Check the licensing requirements for your new location ahead of time. The city clerk or town hall of your new location will have the information you need.

Keep your health documents for your pets handy.

Make sure all shots and vaccinations are up to date.

Have an up to date identification tag on your animal's collar.

Have your Veterinarian recommend a good Veterinarian in your new location.

For long distance moves (if you are not driving) you will need to decide how you are going to get your pet to your new home. Pets can only travel by air or motor vehicle � unless they are a guide dog. Your pet must be older than 8 weeks old before they can travel by air. Check with the airlines to see what thier regulations are for traveling with a pet.

If you are driving long distance make sure you find a hotel/motel that accepts pets.

Plan stops along the way.

Don't leave pet unattended in vehicle.
